Like many other oratories or little votive chapels, San Guiseppe is also located at bifurcation of two important roads of the time: the Lauretana that cut through the part of town known as Prato before going on to the valley of the Chiana river, and the Pecorile road that led to Chiusure, Trequanda, and San Giovanni d'Asso. The architecture of the exterior shows many structural changes, while the main feature inside is the fresco of the Madonna del Latte (the Nursing Madonna) surrounded by various saints. This work, attributed to Sodoma, was heavily damaged during the last war.
As in the case of San Sebastiano in Camparboli, this small and small church also originated from a tavern that, over time, had undergone many renovations.
In the south of Asciano, besides this, there was another tabernacle in the Pian di Prato and dedicated to Our Lady. From where they were going: the old road that led to Sant'Ippolito and the one that, through the Cacciaconti Palace, led to Serre and Rapolano. Unfortunately, there is no longer any trace of this last tabernacle.
