Racchiusa da mura poderose,

ai suoi lati ci sono due baluardi di forma rotonda. Uno di questi è diroccato, così come da questo baluardo fino all'antiporto sono diroccate le mura, ma da quei pochi resti si deduce che tutte le strutture erano composte di pietra concia ed avevano quattro braccia di grandezza. Al centro del fronte sud spicca il cassero Senese, alta torre di forma quadrata dall'altezza di circa trenta braccia costruita in pietra concia.
